Founder and CEO of Living Brave Through Breast Cancer

Ms. Zell Randle is a resident of Southfield, Michigan; a single mom of three successful adult children; and the grandmother of three. As a servant leader, she is the Founder and CEO of Living Brave Through Breast Cancer (TBC), a 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on supporting women and men battling breast cancer. Her newest title is entrepreneur, as she is the owner of Randle’s T-Shirt Company, LLC Screen Printing Service.

Ms. Randle received a call while at work from her family doctor on July 29, 2014, with the terrible news, that she was diagnosed with breast cancer again, 26 years after her first diagnosis. After having several surgeries and battling this dis-ease for the second time, Ms. Randle, as she would say, "Reached out for the hand of God”.

She struggled financially after her savings were depleted paying high breast cancer-related medical bills. When she reached out to organizations that focused on helping people diagnosed with breast cancer, she was denied financial assistance because of her income status. Ms. Randle researched and found many other breast cancer survivors/fighters faced similar situations of having to deal with breast cancer and the aftermath of it, high medical bills & home expenses, and worrying about how to save and care for their homes.

Ms. Randle was perplexed, concerned, and unsure of her future. The first thought was to be quiet and not allow people to see her pain or even talk about breast cancer. In 2015, Ms. Randle received a call from Dr. Pamela Davenport, who gave her a platform to share her story; this opportunity ultimately helped her realize the purpose of her life. With the support of her family and co-workers, she decided not to allow fear to dictate her path, but instead to focus on faith in God’s Word, believing in HIS healing power. Her motivation was “If God Did It Before, He Will Do It Again”.

Ms. Randle and her daughter Ms. Avis Randle, Co-founder, and COO, launched Living Brave Through Breast Cancer (TBC) in 2017 using their own funds to support others. Realizing the growth of the organization and the needs of other fighters/survivors, they begin hosting a series of fundraisers throughout the year to support those who were referred to Living Brave TBC for assistance.

The mother-daughter-duo, and their hardworking dedicated team members, hosts their free annual “Early Detection Awareness (EDA)” event to educate the community about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Their EDA event is held annually on the 3rd Saturday of October. Living Brave TBC organization is based on referrals from medical facilities, family members, and/or friends of those who are currently battling or recently battled breast cancer within the first three to five years, who have struggled mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially.

Ms. Randle wanted to gift the fighters and their families a t-shirt in support of their loved ones during the annual EDA events. She worked with several printing stores and even someone she knew personally. However, she discovered she was being taken advantage of and heinously overcharged. Ms. Randle felt God was leading her to learn how to print her own t-shirts for the people she was supporting.

This experience was the start of "RANDLE'S T-SHIRT COMPANY, LLC". Ms. Randle founded Randle's T-shirt Co (RTC) out of her need to support others. Beyond her call of duty to serve, she realized it was also actually a call for her to return to her roots. Ms. Randle came from a lineage of familial entrepreneurs. Her parents, the beloved Rev. Ozell, Sr., and Mother Jessie Randle were the owners of Randle’s Clothing Cleaners. The legacy of her parents continues throughout her life as a servant leader and entrepreneur in the clothing industry. Ms. Zell Randle’s vision and mission is to build the organization to become a strong family membership of fighters, survivors, caregivers, and supporters, as well as to teach the youth about business ownership, respectively. Her motto is EACH ONE REACH ONE.
